The 3 Sections
Juniors Yr 5-7
The Junior Section is for Lads in Years 5, 6 and 7. It runs from 6:30pm - 8:15pm at the USG hall every Friday! A standard Friday night consists to Games, Bundling and a Talk by one of the leaders.
Inters Yr 8-10
The Inters Section is for Lads in Years 8, 9 and 10. Lads can turn up at the hall from 7:30 pm for the altogether slot then will leave the hall at 8:15 pm to go off into their Keenite Groups at people’s houses for Food, Bible Study and Games for the rest of the evening.
Seniors Yr 11-13
The Senior Section is for Lads in Years 11, 12 and 13. Lads can turn up at the hall from 7:30 pm for the altogether slot then will leave the hall at 8:15 pm to go off into their Keenite Groups at people’s houses for Food, Bible Study and Games for the rest of the evening.
Urban Saints Guildford is aimed at lads in school years 5 – 13. So if you know of someone in that age group who would love to be a part of the group then simply come along down the USG hall one Friday evening (see below for timings) and introduce yourself to the team.
We require a parent/guardian of a new lad to complete a PCF. Please click the link and fill it out before you bring your son down for the first time.
Where possible we’d encourage the parent/guardian to contact one of our leaders beforehand so we can look out for you when you arrive and answer any questions you might have.
Weekly Activities
We hold weekly events every Friday evening throughout the year. The different activities provide a great opportunity for lads to unwind after a busy week at school or college. Sadly our Friday night activities do not cater for girls however there is an Urban Saints Guildford Girls group that runs in Burpham.
Main Slot (Friday 19:30 - 20:15)
The Friday night Main Slot is an opportunity for lads from all year groups across USG to meet at the hall to hang out, catch up and get involved in a variety of activities. There’s games both inside our hall and outside on Stoke Park (weather permitting), table football, dodgeball and much much more.
We also hear a message delivered by a different leader each week about how their faith in Jesus has impacted their life. At the end of this session years 8 – 13 head off in their Keenite groups (see below). At this point, the Juniors (years 5-7) are collected from the hall by their parents.
Junior Games (Friday 18:30 - 19:30)
This is a great opportunity for our youngest lads to meet together for an hour of crazy games and activities, and a bit of chill out time after a hard week at school! It provides a great environment for the lads to make friends with other people their own age from a variety of schools in and around the Guildford area.
Once the games and activities come to a close we spend a short time together discussing and exploring what the Christian faith is all about and how it is relevant to our lives today.
During the last 45 minutes of the Junior’s time down the hall other age groups begin to arrive for the Friday night Main Slot 👇. This provides a good opportunity for the younger lads to mix with other people from a variety of different ages
Keenites (Friday 20:15 - Varied)
Keenites is the name we give to the latter part of Friday evenings for the older lads. We split lads up into their year groups and head off to different locations around Guildford (often lad’s houses).
It is a great way to spend a Friday evening and many great friendships have been forged over the years with some former lads still in touch with members of their Keenite group decades after leaving Urban Saints. Each group is led by two dedicated leaders who guide the lads through the Bible and facilitate discussions and questions about the Christian faith. Each Keenite group has a different end time depending on age.
